Very large tonsils need laser tonsillectomy under general anaesthetic using an operating microscope

Tonsils often need treating for a wide variety of conditions, from bad breath and tonsil stones to snoring and sleep apnoea and tonsillitis and peritonsillar abscess. Preferably we do tonsillectomy under local anaesthetic spray but when they are very big it's better to have one procedure under general anaesthetic rather than several under local anaesthetic. This case of very large tonsils did well with a single laser procedure combined with

debulking diathermy under a short general anaesthetic as a daycase.
