A tonsillitis sufferer until a single laser tonsillectomy under local anaesthetic sorted it out:

Well Doctor,

You lasered my tonsils into vapour back in about April.

Impossible to prove a negative of course, but they've just had their first real test.

The mega stuffy cold has just done its rounds of my office and caught me well.

Previous history for me has been that 7/10 prolonged colds would result in me getting tonsillitis - but I've come through this cold unscathed.

Long may it continue!

I had a similar experience; tonsils lasted 14 months ago. No occurrences of tonsillitis or stones since even with a couple of colds! Highly recommend this procedure!

It seems crazy that this isn’t considered front line treatment for adult tonsil problems. The issue is laser familiarity, training and confidence in the procedure from my colleagues. Lasers can be very dangerous in the hands of the inexperienced or poorly trained. Mike Dilkes
